ok maybe this is a silly question... but when is it PC to wear your Jacket?

only when you ride?  or whenever you want?

i know of course you can do what you want, but is there some unwritten rule that people dont wear their jackets unless they are out for a ride??

IMO, only when you are riding. I hate walking around with my jacket when I am not on my bike...screams "look at me, i ride a motorcycle." I'd rather have my Termi's scream it instead.

Iono, I always wore mine around. Yeah, it attracts a lotta attention but I do it more because I don't trust leaving it on the bike and don't wanna carry it. I do what's comfortable. On hot days I take the wrist snaps and snap them together and wear my jacket like a cape. 

i think its bc really that true moto jackets are well too over the top with all the armor in them and such that thye look a little too mad max or power ranger that its goofy unless its a costume party.

unless its a very very casual looking jacket with hidden armor in it, then you usulally can't wear it too much off the bike.  although motorcycle jackets for fashion have been in and out of style constantly but those jackets the stylish ones have no armor and are not for riding really.

but if you only have 1 leather jacket and you like wearing it, then wear it.  heck you spent all that money on it if its nice then wear it who cares what anyone thinks.

i thought you ment it as, can you go ou with your jacket if your not gonna ride youre bike. the answer is, POSER.

otherwise,if you are riding, why wouldnt you wear it? i woudnt leave it on the bike.

I have the Ducati Historical jacket. Don't mind representing the Company that makes excellent works of art and machinery. IMO

I've got the Dainese 80's jacket and I might wear it if it didn't have elbow, shoulder and back protector in it. But never my Joe Rocket mesh.

mine is a basic black low key jacket... it really just looks like a black & gray leather jacket.  I wear that when I go out on the town, etc and then just wear it as my jacket too.  It is a looser cut than my other alpine stars jacket which I only wear when on rides.

Rereading my post I realize I was not that clear.
I only wear my jacket if I ride.  but if I go out and ride my bike there, I will wear it as my jacket.  I also have a jacket that I wear for rides when I'm not doing anything else, but riding (it is a tighter fit and definitely flashier)

IMHO, the only people who wear their gear when not riding are squids who bought their bike to park in a wal-mart parking lot and lean on. Usually these are either teens or guys in their early twenties who couldn't take a curve if their life depended on it.

you're right, that is what i meant...

I have alot of leather motorcycle Jackets . Most are Dainese and if I'm going to the grocery I don't have a problem wearing one w, jeans if I feel like wearing it.

Would you wear a full 1 piece suit  with a speed hump, race gloves and boots to go to ride to the corner store? its basically the same thing. Why wear a race suit if you dont intend to go riding hard, or tracking it? Why wear a armored jacket if your gonna just walk someone where?

Theres a thread in NMC "dumbest questions ever asked" or something to that effect, when someone goes up to you and asks "nice jacket, so did you ride here?" what are you suppose to say? its not a dumb question anymore at that point.

we're talking moto specific jackets with padding and armor right? not harley leathers with nothing but leather....
