We use alot of LaRue products at work.  [thumbsup]

Yep.  Top notch gear from top notch guys.  They sent me quite a few care packages last time I was "out there".

Ok, someone other than Cyrus. For carry, HK USP compact or Sig 229?

No experience with HK, but I've heard they are sick nice. I do, however, have experience with Sig. My little P238 is a solid piece of work. Great engineering, attention to detail, the works. Sig's ergo is legendary... but the only way to tell is to put sweaty little hands on both.

And then post pics.  [thumbsup]

If it was my decision, I would go with the Sig.  Both are great weapons, but the 229 fits my hand MUCH better.  Plus, I have never liked the curvature of the HK's trigger.  And while we are talking ergos, the Sig just seems to be a much more natural pointing pistol to me.  Of course this only applies to me, ymmv.

And on a different note, just picked up something nice from the gun store.  Pics posted.

Picked up my new rifle this evening.  Got a Knights Armament SR-15 E3 set up and started moving some of the gear from the other M4 over to the new one.  Can't decide if I like the SOPMOD or the CTR stock better...

I'll try to get a couple of pictures in the sunlight tomorrow.

sigs and hks are horrible carry guns... too big and bulky. A lightweight commander or browning hipower conceals a lot more easily.

My only HK pistol experience is with the HKP7 and P13 pistols, not a lot of USP stuff. The rifles are another topic, including my MP5. The P7 is old but nice, the P13s are thick like a Glock 21 .45ACP. If you like 9mm you really should look at the 9mm P7 squeeze cocker... if you are into non-typical guns. I took a tactical class from John Farnham/Defense Training Int'l. years ago at the NRA/Whittington Center in New Mexico and several guys from the New Jersey State Police were there and their carry gun was the single stack HKP7 in 9mm. They f#@king rocked with that pistol!! [thumbsup] They were going to transition to a more modern, hi-cap pistol soon (can't remember what...) but they kicked butt with the 8 round single stack P7. Just shows once again it's the shooter not the gun! [bow_down] I love my P7 but I'm kind of a 1911/Browning Hi-Power kind of guy.

i wouldn't say "horrible" because different folks' bodies allow different kinds of carry, but yes both are thick make the beast with two backsers.  i really like single stack 9s or .380 mouse guns.  If you don't want a mousegun, and like the SIG, look at the old P225 which is a single stack with the same functionality as other SIGs

HKs are great holster guns.  no doubt, i have a full size 45 but the slide is like 5 inches wide (it seems, i am exaggerating).

i carry the Ruger LCP right now and love it.  it's like it's not there at all, but it works beautifully.  I tried to love the KelTec PF9 but it's just too fugly and the trigger mechanism feels like a staple gun.  Kellgren has done some good but this isn't his best.

Actually I think I am going to carry my newest handgun purchase for carry:

Glock Model 33, which is a sub-compact .357 Sig.

I am not the biggest Glock fan, but I like the size, the caliber, and the way it feels.

You have small hands but make sure if you look at one, have the shop put the mag extender piece which adds a holding spot for your pinky. I dont know what that piece is called. Someone can probably chime in with the technical term. I also bought a generic hogue grip which I had to cut with a utility knife to make it fit to the gun, but it is nice. I have them on most of my handguns (minus my .32 Keltec and Tomcat) so I have the same "feel" when I grab them.

Any gun from close range will do the business you need it to. Hell, a few well placed shots with a .22 handgun will take care of the issue.

I just choose the largest round to fit my frame and carry.

When I lived in Indiana, I used to conceal a USP-40 full size. You know I am not the biggest person, but with a cheap ass Mike's inside the pants holster, it worked out just fine for me.

If you want a nice, small large caliber gun, look at the sub-compact 1911's. They are are a bit pricey, but most seem to like them.

I am about to get ripped a new one..........

but I dont like 1911's.

I don't like that beaver tail safety on them. Maybe it is what I am used to shooting, but I make the beast with two backsing hate them.

I am sure they are nice guns, but not something I like.

Mak or 1911?

I mean they're both slim single-stack guns, but one of those is still much bigger than the other...

I've carried a Mak, and always found it very comfortable.

its a 4" 1911, slim grips on it, alu frame (Kimber). The Makarov is about the same weight with ammo in it, perceptually. I figure I could always hit somebody with it over top of the head if the old 9x18 don't work. [cheeky]
