i know what you're saying and i agree
But i don;t like waiting lol.  If this delaer had just said yes we can get you the bike but it might take a week or two, i would be fine
But to be told,  you  will be riding by the weekend, then to not even call me back when the bike i s not there, is what pisses me off.
I love buying new to me bikes, used bikes are easy.  See the bike, offer, buy the bike.  Ride bike

Buying new is a new experience, and so far it's been a giant pain in the ass

a month from now you will forget all about thes few extra days of waiting.  pics of the bike in the crate at the dealer would be cool too.  think of them like those IZ_ baby ultrasound pics that the women at the office get all crazy about... but cooler!  i wish i would have snapped a few of my baby while it was still in the 'womb' :D

that is a cool idea, i am going to try and do just that  [thumbsup]

Ducati has run out of bikes.  No f'n monster for me  [bang]

The dealer is going to call me back by the end of day.  At which point i can either wait till god knows when or get my deposite back
i cannot belive this shit  :'(

wow, that sucks.  the tricolor was a limited edition but your dealer should have checked before making promises.

exaclty why i am so pissed
I called, he gav eme a price.  I told him to call and make sure he can get it.  He called back 45min later and said no problem they ahve a bike you will be riding by the weekend.
He flat out lied just to get a deposite >:(

if i don;t have a call back before 4pm ia m going there in persona nd getting this sorted out.  Complete and utter BS.  There is an Aprilla dealer ont he wya home that has 2 Tuono in stock.  I almost cannot be bothered to even try the other Ducati dealers  >:(
I have never had to work so hard to  purchase anythinig before.  NEver mind somthing that cost almost $17000
2 ducatis, and that might be it.  i;ve had enough

I've never been around the Aprillas I do know the Duc is easy to love. I hope the dealer makes it right for you. Have you considered a used bike? Cheaper and you leave with it right now! If it's gotta be new I understand, but if you don't mind someone else taking care of the hassles of break-in and first service, it's a good way to go. Plus you have even odds of some mods already being done for less than the price of a new bike. I understand what you're saying about the dealer honoring promises I completely feel that way no matter what the purchase size. If I have to wait, fine I'll wait but don't tell me I won't, then be to chicken to take my calls. Don't be afraid to go over his/her head to get it taken care of. Tell them you want a bike at the given deal, if the sales person won't help, talk to the owner of the dealership, if you can't get activity take it to DNA.

This looks like it's truly bugging you to the point of being miserable.  go get the tuono.
It's still buy a flounder a drink month

and to add insult to injury the left over 07 S4Rs locally has been sold  >:(
i am gonna f'n  loose it on this dealer

I am really sorry that you went through all of this.  I have had a similarly painful experience with the local Ducati dealer down here BOTH times I tried to buy a bike from them.  This last time broke the proverbial camel's back though.  They had an '06 Sport1000 that I REALLY wanted to get my hands on. I made three trips down to look at and test ride it and each time they quoted me a reasonable price for the bike.  Well, the day comes that I am ready to make the offer.  I call the sales manager and tell him that I am coming down to talk numbers and if we come to an agreeable amount then I will buy it.  Now keep in mind that it is about 50 miles round trip from my house to the dealer.  So, I get down there, talk to him and the head mechanic about it again for about an hour.  Go back inside, and am then told that they decided to put the bike on ebay instead!!  I didn't believe what I had heard at first, and asked him to repeat himself.  Sure enough, they wanted to auction the thing off.  I pretty much told them to go make the beast with two backs themselves for stringing me around like that and that I would be more than happy to get any further Ducatis from California and have them shipped down here so I wouldn't have to deal with their buffoonery every again.

4 pages and still no pics??  [evil]

Sorry to hear about the deal, that's pretty f-up on all accounts.  I've bought new bikes and used bikes and luckily both transactions have been easy as pie.

Post some pics of that Tuono!

It's really sad that 1 or 2 salesmen or dealers can really sour the whole Ducati experience.
Don't they understand customer service?
What happened to the customer is always right??
How are they going to stay in business by pissing people off?

thanks guys
I would buy used but the only used ones are US bikes.  I was set on used until they gave me the prices on the new ones.
I plan to keep this bike for a long time, so new was good.

So i called  2 other dealrs, they each ahve a tricolore in stock.  So i called the dealer back.  He is oging to try and buy on from another dealer.
he has until 5pm, then i am going over there and getting my money back
