After finding a slightly crashed (but clean titled), and overall complete 99 Ducati ST4 on ebay for only $500, I decided that the only thing better than having one custom project bike this winter, would be having two custom project bikes this winter!

Anyhow here's some pictures of how she was when I got her:

And one of how she is now...

This bike is going to have a theme I initially wanted for my S4RS, but the sad fact is it will actually look better on this bike, so the frame and tank already off for paint, brakes are on their way, along with several other missing components, some custom bits and pieces, etc...

I'll post up more as things progress.

It even came with a built in engine stand.  ;)

And boy do they come in handy!

Not a lot of updates today though - at least not visually, but we've got a lot of the custom parts we need in production, at the paint shop, or on order, so now we play the waiting game.

ideas:
-throw a short touring/race fairing on that and make it a sport/tourer instead of SF.  what Ducati should do for a new ST line.
-bring the horizontal exhaust up through the swingarm where the vertical now goes down into, then a 2-1-2 underseat with a 999 style rear light hanging under the pipes.
-or see if an S*R style swingarm would fit and use the dual shotgun style exhausts with a full exhaust kit, you might have issues with the center stand if you keep it though.

I'm sure I'll have more.. I had wanted to find an ST awhile ago and take half the body work off.

All will be revealed in time, but we are taking a different approach with this one...   [drink]

I come bearing good news... We once again have progress being made!

We finally got the frame back:

Along with a new SpeedyMoto water pump housing:

and then installed the frame and a brand new Bitubo Adjustable shock to the engine:

Now we just need the tank to be finished (currently awaiting airbrushing), along with a new radiator, voltage regulator, triple clamps, passenger rearsets, rider rearsets, etc...

Mad, bad, and dangerous to know.

Very cool  [bacon] [bacon] Love that blue frame

I'm thinking that you should go with a black and blue color scheme. Black out the swinger and black forks with a few tasty blue bits..... mmmm

You seem to like putting the Bitubo shocks on your bikes. Any reason why? I haven't any experience with them

Keep up the good work  [thumbsup]

Thanks guys, I can't wait to get these bikes finished, I've been poppin wheelies around town on a Multi for the past few months and it just wasnt the same.

The black swingarm is a great idea... I think I'll finish it up this way first though, give it a look and see what I think.

As for the Bitubo suspension, I used their shock on my custom 1098 for the past 15,000 miles and loved it and I think they are one of the best choices out there.

PERSONALLY...I think that frame coloration is screaming for a tank paint job to pay homage to a certain race scheme...
