Gotta keep running 'cuz I've got a smoker in three weeks, and I've pulled my left hip flexor.

My pace used to be 7.5/ min per mile... now it's 7-point-ow pant ow pant ow pant ow.

Nice!  I've never done a smoker but I wouldn't mind trying if I lost a good bit of weight.  I've always wanted to try my funky Shotokan style vs the typical kick boxer.

Tonight I have Judo practice...I hope to be the one throwing this time  [laugh]

We have a lot of converted TKD and Kyokushin guys, and their first movements are so explosive that it's just maddening.  You do NOT want to be stationary in front of one of them when they get off the line.

Once you break kicking range, they have a lot of trouble.  I'm OK with trading a glancing spinning back kick for the six or seven clinch knees I'm going to land.

There's a Navy Seal that trains with us...This weekend he went to a Judo tournament and fought in 3 weight divisions for a total of 16 fights back to back with no rest. He wins them all! I'm glad we have guys like him on our side!

Wait, unless you have overlapping weight divisions, how could he fight in 3 different ones?

I'm already checking out the situation down in Chile. They have a few Judo Dojos, but the wife wants to go to the Y. Right now they offer Aikido, so I might try it.

Dude, do Judo if you can.  Aikido is great but there's nothing like the feeling of launching people into the air, plus, if the dojo is like mine, they teach you a lot of ground game like chokes and arm locks.  Do it!

The Judoka entered his weight class, plus the next two divisions higher!  Somthing like 70kg, 90Kg, and 100kg all in the Black Belt division.  Won them all by Ippon, or knock down throw, which is HARD as hell to do!

I prefer Judo, but not going to pay too much extra if I'll already be a member of the Y.

LOL  I used to have a quick jab and I would do the same to my partners.  They would tear up too  [laugh]

The worst kick i've taken was an axe kick to my collar bone.  Foot went up, came down faster, and heard an audible snap!   [thumbsdown]

Andy Hug comes to mind...that guy would do a vertical split and land some nasty axe kicks.

duccarlos

Reverse side kick to the gut. Knocked the wind out of me.

Big 6'5" dude reverse roundhouse. Put his heel right in my eye socket.

I went down to one knee, almost put me out.

Ok Ok...the worst was a tennis ball being chucked at me, bouncing off the floor and hitting me in the nadz.  That takes the cake!

He Man

did a martial artist throw it at you using it as a weapon? if no then it does not count!

I thought we were discussing legit kicks. I've gotten hit in the balls more times than I care to remember.
