I was using the Dainese Moto X gloves. They already started to rip in about a year.

I am looking for another summer gloves. I have hand cramping issues so I need to be careful about which gloves I pick.

Any recommendations?

I think I will be hitting the dainese store tomorrow to check some gloves out.

wtf, i just bought those. only 200 miles on them. they are so comfy!!!! what are you using them for? i had JR gloves that i take on and off about 12 times a day. They've been soaked in water about 20 times and they ripped into several pieces. I hope the dainese stuff is better. (its still made in vietnam if you didnt notice)

My other pic aside from the dainese was the Alpine star GPX. But ive also heard stories about those gloves ripping prematurely. But it really depends on what you use em for. Im hoping my motox lasts longer than my JR (8,000 miles)

I have been using Alpinestars SMX-2 gloves since March. They were a little tight at first, but got to perfect within a couple of rides. At speed, they vent just enough to keep your hands cooled down. I have a tendency to sweat at the hands and these gloves have given me no problems even in the hot Texas summer that we had (are having still?) this year.

Let us know what you settle on and how you like them.

They are very comfy  [thumbsup]

I use them to commute in. I put on about 15k miles on them since I bought them. My right gloves is ripping near the base where I pull it to put it on my hand.
I don't think I am being very rough on them to get them on but who knows  ???

My summer gloves are the BMW Motorrad Airflow II

I rate them very highly - very comfortable, great build quality, and reasonably priced.

FWIW all 3 sets of my gloves are A*.  SP-1, SP-S and a set of the older GP ones.  All are wearing well and have gotten a good bit of use save for the SP-S since I only use them for short around town hops.

In true euro style, they run small.  I had to swap an XL set of the SP-S for XXL since the fingers were too short for me to grip the bars w/ the gloves on.  The SP-1s are little longer and very snug on me at XL.  So snug it's a battle to get them off if I'm sweaty. They are comfortable depite the snugness.

The GP are XXL and quite comfy.  Since I was gifted them they have become my go-to glove.

The SP-S are nice 3/4 length gloves.  Very soft and give a good touch all while sporting some beefy knuckle dusters.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

I'm rocking a pair of A*s as well. GP Plus.
I have had zero problems with them. I mean, they don't look like showroom, but they are MOTORCYCLE GLOVES. They're going to get beat up, it's their job to take the hits so your hands don't. Pebbles, rocks, the occasional hand to hand combat with the dog's mouth (he loves these damn gloves!)... they take all the abuse i can throw at them.

i guess like anything else you buy, occasionally someone gets a bad apple.

I have the Dainese Blaster... awesome gloves. My hand doesn't cramp up or fall asleep anymore.

I would also recommend the Blaster.  The Moto-X is just that, a motocross glove.  It is really not designed for street use, and I would be suspect of it holding up during a serious get-off on the tarmac.

The Blaster is still a perforated, short summer glove, but is much more substantially built.  You should also take a look at the M-19, Short Track and Piston gloves.

Your hands shouldn't be cramping up.

You must be gripping the handgrips to tight would be my guess.

Try riding w/ a light grip and learn to steer the bike more w/ your body , your knees and your lower body. You can lean and your bike will actually manuever easier when you use a light grip .

Also you bars may need to be adjusted , rotated to a more comfortable position.   Dolph

I like my A* SMX2 gloves w/ CF knuckle, very comfy.  Agreed that they run small.  I don't have girly hands, but I'm not sure I'm really an XL.  However, I would agree with people who claim A* quality isn't as great as it used to be; some of the stitching is coming loose after about 600mi; nothing major since it's not the seams, but still...

If I wanted to drop more money when mine wear out I'd get a pair of Dainese Duel gloves, but I'll probably just get Icon Mercs.  Tried 'em on before, pretty comfy.

I wish it was that simple. Its a repetitive stress injury. I sit in front of the PC all day then I put a good amount of time on my Bike as well.
I hold my throttle like a Twinkie... Remember that reference from the old Ducati board  ???

If I pretend like I am holding the throttle My hand hurts. Hell it hurts by typing this message. Its not carpal tunnel though based on the symptoms.

I can fiddle with the rotation of the Bars to see if I can find a sweet spot that does not hurt as much.

1) we should rotate your bars, or you should consider some with more of a rise. My bike has higher bars, if you want to grab a seat and see how it feels.

2) Just go to the dang Dainese store-I know you ain't far from it  ;)

I was also a big Dainese fan. And I am still. But I have to admit that Spidi's are really good.
For summer gloves: the Race-vent glove are the best summer gloves you may consider. It's like riding bare hands... Impressive. [thumbsup]
