Is that Kiser?  I bought a Vino from them.  Not much excitement in that part of town except for cheesecake :)

Yep, Kiser.
The only exciting thing around here right now is that they are almost done widening and repaving Saddle Road. [evil]
That and the new petco. ;D

I have had people look at my M620 and lament that they "couldn't afford nothing like that" and drive off in a car sporting 20" rims that must have run $1K a piece. I think it's funny.

You should just say "that's why you can't afford one" as you point at their rims and then yell "COMINAYEAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA" like jack black in SS as you burn out.  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

there was going to be something humorous here, but, unfortunately, i was in charge of the typing, and this is all i could come up with.

I get asked all the time, but I also get the same question about my Vespa GTS. I think it's an Italian image thingy. No one ever asked about my Honda or Nissan cages.

Almost every time I ride.  I usually don't answer.

I've never been asked. I do ask people I know how much they paid when they buy one used just because I'm curious about the deal they got. Plus, I've always got one eye open looking for another. ;)

I have never been asked that question.    Dolph

I've never been asked. Nor has anyone ever asked how much my Z4 cost. The only vehicles I can recall being asked the price of were my Vespa and the tractor.

...I demurely say "Probably a lot less than you think, and lets just leave it at that."

To me my Monster is a work of art, the Ferrari of motorcycles. Sure it may not have cost as much as a Desmosedici, but that value is what I find in it. Almost everytime that my fiance and I take out our bikes we get comments, head nodds, thumbs up, but every time that we take out one of our Monster's and our Triumph 675, the Monster always wins the public attention.

They are great bikes, beautifully crafted and designed.

So when someone asks how much it cost me, I just proudly say "It's a Ducati" and non-chalantly nodd my head and shrug my shoulders as if they're guess is right on the money.

;D

That's the second most popular question, right behind "What year is that?"

I think I get asked more often than not, how fast have I gone on my Monster.

I always say "I've never gone over 160mph"

...well....it is a true statement....  [cheeky]

Hmm, I get this question all the time for my bicycles, but not usually for the Duc.

Usually it's "What size engine?" and "How fast do you go?" and "Do you ride between the lanes?" and "How long have you been riding?"

I've only ridden the Monster a few times, so no questions yet, but I have been asked (How much horsepower does this thing have?) many times over the years.

You ride a Monster. I ride a Sport 1000. Questions, in order of popularity:

1) What year is that?

2) How much did it cost?

3) How fast does it go?

The Monster is a timeless design. To the casual onlooker, a 1994 looks much like a 2004. A Sport 1000 looks like it fell out of the 70's, as it was designed to.

If I give them a chance, they'll usually get around to asking me how fast it goes. I usually say "Owners manual says not to exceed 145 mph."

Like you, I leave them to fill in the blanks.  [thumbsup]
