We're going to see what's available in the area and I'm thinking of getting one after the races.

What track is it again?

I'd ask around for any bikes for sale there. Look really hard at the KX65 minimotard bikes. That seems to be the 'popular' bike lately for adults anyway.

There WERE about 15 YSRs for sale on ebay for about $1500+ while the KXs start around $800. Granted, you'd need to put some $$ in either. I don't know anything about your son, but if he's light, you may get away with just cutting/respringing forks and upgraded shock. If he's heavier, you'll want to look at putting beefier forks/triples on for the extra strength as well as new shock. Plus most of the KXs will need new wheels/tires.

HOpe that helps.

Doesn't the hi comp kit up the cc or is it just a re-fit? Funny you say this because I was just at AMS talking to Giannis about this very same thing. I'm thinking of putting the 70cc kit on my Scarabeo which would then make it a true 70mph scoot  [moto] Yeee Haaa. There is all sorts of aftermarket stuff for the Aprillia scoot at AF1 in San Antonio. Does Piagio make up market components for Vespas?

We could get Mark to ride the 'Pretty in Pink' some Fri-Sat night to Strokers whatdiya think?

Dax, if you get the kit and are thinking of doing the miniGP scooter series let me know.

I don't see how you're ever gonna see 70 mph on 70cc unless you're changing more than the comp kit.   yes, I picked up the kit from the D scooter store on University and 75.  and HELL NO on the scoot at strokers, I got a cruiser for that ride.

I see your point, I imagine it's rather difficult to go through the identity crisis of changing out of the YamaHarley gear into the Mod's gear.

muskrat

who needs gear in this heat?  road rash and this heat feels about the same I imagine.

I want to haul home a pocketbook too! As long as it's full of cash.

try this address:
3086-3386 Memory Ln
Denton, TX 76207

I think you'll have to exit 474 or 473 to get there off of 35 going northbound. If heading northbound, exit 474 comes first and has a gas station I believe. Not sure about 473. Follow Service road down big hill and under freeway. turn right into second driveway. Follow it allllllllllllllll the way around back of the drag strip.

Just a reminder this is happening JULY 25/26.

Cheers,
Steve

shit, that's not the place I had in mind.  I guess the one I was thinking about was near Sanger on the south side of I35.

It is south of Sanger on the WEST side of I35 but you have to get there from the northbound service road. I think.

Looking closer at the Google map of the above address, the exit numbers are a little confusing. I think Milam Rd has a gas station on the corner and would be a fine exit to take.

Again, this is JULY 25th and 26th. Not June.

There used to be a go kart race track around that area. Is that still there and is that the facility where the MiniGp is?

muskrat

seems to be.  maybe I'll go check it out this weekend if it ever gets below 100.  damn it's hot.
