Well that wasn't so hard (tail chop - now with pics)

I have been putting off my tail chop for a while, figuring I just didn't have the time.  Today I was installing quieter baffles in the boom tubes and figured I'd look at the tail chop.  Took me all of an hour. Remove plastic.  Get out zawzall.  Measure a bazillion times.  Spend about 2 minutes cutting, filing, masking, and painting. Attach Vizitech integrated tail light to their bracket and attach to bike.  Plug in.  While waiting for paint to dry, unload 20 gauge frame plugs.  Have fun with powder. [evil]  Paint still tacky, so I installed some Rizoma front signals (holy crap they give you a ton of wire). Used one resistor on each side.  Pushed in frame plugs with a touch of silicone.  Took off riding.  It is so much faster without a tail and those giant turn signals  [cheeky]   Ran out of light, so no pics until tomorrow.


Thanks DMF for all the great ideas and advice!  Now I just have to find time to put on the SBK forks.......

SBK forks on a monster? Heresy!!!!Why would you even consider doing such a vile disgusting thing?

I'll be a trooper and take those off your hands before they befoul your beautiful tailless monster.  ;D

I got my triples bored by Hooligan Machinist for a extra copy of Long Way Down!  [beer] That's a hell of a lot cheaper than that super deal cycle cat triple.  I also have a set of cycle cat clips from a multi-strada that won't work with the cycle cat triple for the monster.....

That's wierd, the forks are the same dimensions IIRC, they *should* fit

Its not the fork dimension (both the multistroodle and the SBK are 53mm) but it is the position of the riser on the clip on itself. The cycle cat monster clips have risers that come off the side of the fork while the multistroodle version's risers come off the front of the fork, if that makes any sense.  The cycle cat upper triple is really thick on its front edges and therefore neither the cycle cat multistroodle clips nor the swatt style clips will work with the cycle cat triple.

Damn that sucks. Well good luck with that. I can't see how it could be machined to fit.

You might have some luck selling them at Ducati.ms

They work with the SBK forks and the bored stock triple.  They don't work with the cycle cat triple.  I'm in good shape.....

I'm considering a tail chop...  now I just need to get up the guts to take a hacksaw to my bike.  Heh.

Thanks!  It was a heck of a lot easier than I thought it would be.

you need a rear tire mud guard / hugger

the S2r didn't come with it and over time, the crap thrown up will start dimpling your shock

i've tried to hunt down a "full" one that covers the top of the tire too.

very nice looking bike tho.
