Further to that Mike was also previously spinning the spanners at Gowie's
Most likely while Ron was doing his junior monkey work.

Further to that I was doing service advising /spares and learning the fundamentals of servicing, shimming etc at Scot Walker's in Brookvale.

Its taken a while, but I have my own workshop in the end...oops (in partnership with my wife Dallas)

No Monsters in here yet people...I can't call it a real Ducati workshop??  Help

Just dropped my s2r in for a 12k .....workshop immaculate and mike was a good guy will pick up later in the week :) :)

mattyvas

Excellent, I know your bike is in good hands.
Will be over that way tomorrow so might have to drop in to check it out.

Yep, now its a proper Ducati workshop with a big red Monster up on the bike bench.  Been doing mostly Multistrudel's and rattly 748's of late, its refreshing to have a Monster and a pretty schmik one at that!

Cheers - see you soon

Mike at Desmo clinic just did the 12k on my S2R this week. Thanks to you guys on the forum for reinforcing the referral I got from an R1 rider mate of mine. Very happy with the job Mike did - I value the ability to speak directly with the mechanic very highly too. Will definitely be going back there. If you're looking, I'd recommend him too. Just worried about the day coming where we have to book 6 weeks in advance! Oh well, he probably deserves it...
...the older I get the better I was...

Cool Timjim,

Come meet us all sometime on a ride.

timjim

Cheers Matty - yeah, must do that sometime. Weekends are tough for me - I have my two boys every fortnight...but I'd like that...

Excellent, so what did you have done to the breather then.
Come out for a ride and give us a look one day.

I am starting to think it is a bearing noise it must be loud as I can hear it with a full face helmet and Termi's with no baffles .
Hope your bike is still under warranty and you get some satisfaction if it is push hard for repair quote the Nth American recalls.
Dez

Dez, do you still have the baffles for the Termi's? I'm taking a bit of a punt here, why don't you try putting the baffles back in and see if that makes a difference, then try running the spanners over the bike, things like starter motor, exhaust clamps that sort of thing, see if any of this helps. If you can here the noise whilst stationary use a long screwdriver and use it like a stethoscope, it may get you closer to where the noise is coming from.

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......

Matty, I have the TEXA dianostic equipment, which is different to the other workshops you have recently visited in search of your elusive electrical gremlin.  If you feel the need I will scan the ECU with the TEXA and see if it shows up anything.

These electrical dramas are tough and test your patience as you will be well aware by now...

Thanks Mike,

It's at the the previous owner's shop right now and he's a persistent kinda bloke.
So while he was at his shop today doing a few other things he turned his attention to it.
After messing around poured a bit fuel down the trumpets and it fired up.
So there is now thoughts of water actually getting into the top cylinder, so a compression test might be in order?

Cheers
