So what's your point? I said my guess is he'll be back, and they'll be very good again.

If they return essentially the same team, there isn't any reason they won't be good again. Of course, if they lose key players to free agency or injury (ala the Patriots and Brady in your example) then all bets are off.
The Vikings might not win their division next year; the Packers look like they are ready to challenge and make a stronger playoff run.

True. The NFC North could be tough next year. Vikes, Packers, and Maybe Bears if their defense gets it together with Urlacher's return and Cutler quits throwing to the wrong team.

My point is, i dont know if they'll be as good as they were this year. But luckily, you dont need to be the best of the best to win the superbowl. You just need to be able to get it together in the post season and outplay 2 teams.

Is it too early to chat up the big game? After the championship games I was all COLTS, COLTS, COLTS for the Super Bowl win, but now that Freeney might not play, the outcome seems less certain.

The Colts were favored by 7 1/2 immediately after the Championship games, but the latest line has them favored by four. The over and under is 56.

Personally, right now, I'm going with the Saints plus four. They looked awesome after a two week layoff against the Cardinals.

Does 31-28 sound like a reasonable final score? I'm taking the over.

But what do you think?  ??? ??? ???

I'm going with the Saints. I hope to see Gomer mouth breathing on the sidelines.   :D

Straight up win.

+1. Their defense is going to need to step up big time and allow Brees and crew to pull a big lead, but I'm looking for the Saints ti step up and win.

I wouldn't bet against Payton and the Colts.  I'm thinking Colts +7 sounds about right.   :)

The Saints' D is going to have their hands full with the Colts.  If Freeney doesn't play, that'll be a break for Brees, but I still think this game is going to be a Manning tour de force.

Should be fun to watch, though!   [thumbsup]

Interesting clip from Yahoo:

"This year, Madden NFL predicts a close Saints victory, with a final score of 35 - 31 over the Colts. According to the game, Drew Brees will be named the MVP after passing for 299 yards and three touchdowns. Reggie Bush will account for two more touchdowns, one rushing, and one on a punt return."

Madden NFL has correctly predicted 5/6 of the last Super Bowl winners.  [clap] [clap]
