yeah... a 50% increase in tolls on the bridges/tunnels is ridiculous.  i cant think of any other govt agency or private company that could get away with that.

and also, since i live right by the gwb, it hits me pretty hard :\

That's for a commercial vehicle using the bridge for commerce. They should pay more of the share of the bridge upkeep as they create more wear and tear.

I get from PA to Queens everyday for 50 cents in tolls. It still can be done.

Get off Staten Island without paying a toll.  The Varrazano is now $13 cash, 9.60 EZ pass.  The alternative would be to head out to Joisy and enter through a Hudson River crossing and pay only $12 cash, 9.50 peak 7.50 off peak EZ Pass plus wastes miles, fuel and time.
