I don't know why, but Joffry's death was unsatisfying to me.  I have been wishing that guy dead since the first season.  I hated him more than any fictional character I can remember in any book, tv show, or movie.  Yet, I think the show had nice balance with his megalomaniacal yet immature presence.  He created ongoing tension that carried a lot of characters.

I guess I've come to expect a certain level of realism from Martin (well, err, the show that is---never read the books) and so I got accustomed to the fact that, like in our world, in Westeros bad people succeed at least as much as good people.

Joffry's death was a level of justice I don't expect from GoT, and so a little off-putting.  Still, I'm not gonna lie: it was very fun to watch him die.   Now, how do we get rid of his mother...
