I bought a set of PR3's for the s4 back in march and have just put 5000 mls up on them the rear is looking a wee bit the worse for wear but I might get another 500 mls out of it. Have to say I'm well impressed with the wet weather handling of these tyres and will be replacing it with another PR3. I've also managed to cover over 7500 mls in the first year owning a Ducati and have to say the experience has been a pleasure. Hears to many more happy miles and more modding.

Wow, I got 11K out of my PR2's of course my 620 has a lot less horse power.  I thought about going to the PR3's but hard to pass on that kind of mileage.

Definitly pilot road 3 I don't know what bike your riding but my s4 is putting out 99 hp at the wheel and no I don't do burn outs but I do ride it hard and there are no motorways in my neck of the woods all twisty b roads.

99hp at the wheel isn't even that much. There are sport bike riders who also run pr3's getting 10-12k miles out of them. I don't see how you wore them out so fast. What PSI's are you running? 5000 miles should be the pilot power 2ct range as opposed to the roads.

I run 2.1 bar in the front and 2.2 bar in the rear as per what the book says or is the book wrong?

2.2 is low for the rear on a Michelin.

It should be more like 2.35 bar or 34 psi

If you ride 2 up 36 psi is good

well the 2ct is a variant of the michelin tires, 2ct or 2 compound tire usually has a harder center rib for commuting/slabbing and a softer edge compound for grippy cornering, so far the pilot power and the pilot power pure and the pilot road 2 and 3 come with the 2ct tech, but other companies like pirelli are copying this idea, so far as i know the only pirelli running a dual compound is the diablo rosso 2, that being said, the pilot power comes in both regular tire and 2ct, and they are softer than the pilot roads all around

Didn't the PR3 have a delamination problem (chunks falling off) about a year ago?

I'm at 8K miles on my second set of Pilot Roads; got 10K out of the first set. (no burnouts.... [laugh])
Will probably go to the PR2 when these are done.
