...the pretentious garbage that I hate about the Ducati culture. Smug  [puke]
I've often wondered where this comes from?
is it an elitist thing?
is it an: "I can afford something more expensive than you can so I'm better than you" kind of thing?

Duc's aren't better then the jap bikes. Japs run smoother, run longer, perform better, and cost less. To try and sell someone on Ducati as a better bike is useless. That being said I will most likely never own anything other than Ducati.

Theres a previous statement up here, "Jap bikes are for squids".

Well, like I said yesterday, I haven't read the whole thing here so I didn't see "Jap bikes are for squids."

I just want to ensure that statment is not attributed to me even though I think I did introduce the term "squid" to the conversation recently.

Squids......like that term!!! [evil]

RE  Japanese bikes....my next bike will most likely be a R1 or a Honda RR.

Lorenzo & Vali ride Japanese bike because they're under contract....it's their job.  I would bet their personal bike's would be Italian...just guessing ??? ??? [thumbsup]

But, the reason I have a Monster now is I like having something that is not seen on every corner.  I also like the unique sound of open clutch & V Twin.
I also feel that Ducati hard parts (materials, metal) might be of better quality than Japanese.....sure seems by experience that to be the case.

I wonder did you remove all the Ducati logo's so you don't project the "Ducati" elitist image? :o

So does this response preclude the necessity of further responses?  ;D

saying ducatis are better than Japanese bikes is like saying that my college sports team is better than yours.

Only if your college sports team is the Indiana Hoosiers and Japanese bike's college sports team is Notre Dame Fighting Irish.   [cheeky]

My last couple bikes have been Japanese and they were all better than my Ducati has been... and I bought the Duc new.

I love my bike but it isn't as reliable as the Japanese bikes I've owned.  Still, I'd probably buy another Ducati.

Best bang for the buck will never be a Ducati.

I always tell my friends to get Japanese bikes if they want reliable bikes. Having said that, I believe that with proper care and maintenance any brand of bike is reliable and will serve the owner for a loong time.
