Which campus?

The main campus for this program is the NW campus but depending on the number of attendees and the region of Tarrant county from which they come, they may use other campuses.

oh, i bet....   ;)

Now, now we have to wait until she is an actual rider and a participant in the hooliganizm of the group before she is fair game.  It's just courtesy.   ;D

Jim, if I may... I've been through a bunch of gear trying to find "girl" sizing, good construction, durability, color (no, seriously), and last but not least, good value.  Ask Lyndy to cruise over to MotoLiberty sometime before she buys any gear - they've got Fieldsheer suits (mesh and leather), and Scorpion helmets (the only helmet that fits my XS pea-brained head  [roll]  ).

I know everyone likes MotoL, but not everyone in town carries Fieldsheer or Scorpion.  Both brands are excellent values.

Just my .02

Thanks!  Yes, ML is our first choice for local shopping for gear.  Now, if only they'd stay open late enough so us working stiffs could make it over to the east-side before they close on a weeknight.  Alas, looks like we'll have to try to get over there this weekend.

Any recommendation on lightweight helmets?  We've kind of assumed and heard that Shoei and Arai are going to be the two lightest (at least, some of their lines).  But, we're open to suggestions.

I think it's first going to be a matter of what helmet brand fits her head.  I had a hell of time finding a helmet that fit.  Scorpion eventually was the one that fit best and they hvae three lines of helmets based on weight and features:  EXO400 (heaviest with great air flow but loudt; my first helemt), EXO700 (lighter ith excellent airflow, good aerodynamics and quieter, the second helmet and the one I wear most of the time), and their newst, an EXO1000 (really light with some pretty cool features that I'll prolly get eventually).  All are very competitively priced and are good values.

I know there are tons of people around here who swear by Arai and Shoei so it'll be interesting to hear from them as well.

There's also a new moto gear store up in Lewisville across from Vista Ridge mall called Grif's Cycle Sports (2406 S. Stemmons Fwy).  They also carry Fieldsheer and Scorpion.  Here's their link:

http://www.grifscycle.com

And a phone number:  (972)315-2892

They're good folks and brand new.  Not sure if they're any more convenient than ML but maybe their hours are better (they are open Sunday's 10 -4)  ???

+1

He actually measured my head and then talked me through every lid in the shop asking how it felt in various places and how the oval felt about my face and chin. It was very informative. In the end, the Scorpion 700s won for price, weight and comfort.

Yeah, I'm an Arai fan but Lisa is right. Fit first. That's probably the most important thing. If you don't even notice that you are wearing it while you ride then you know you have a good one. Price, color/design, etc. should be secondary comsiderations.

ps   Congrats on the new scooter! Glad it's staying in the family. [thumbsup]

Yeah, it kinda makes me feel funny... kinda "twitchy"... like I need to pull off something stock and put on something aftermarket.

Speaking of aftermarket, does anyone have any "goodies" laying around unused they might be looking to sell for this project?  In the market for just about anything "cool".  Mirrors, grips, seats, lighting, sliders, covers, rearsets, bars, clipons, doo-dads of any sort that will help to personalize her bike.  It's a 2001 M600.  If so, shoot me or her (ThelmaLou) a PM.  [thumbsup]
