I just got my first Ducati, always wanted one, it is a 2012 M796,
I am 6'2" and need a little more leg room.
Any Ideas on lowering the footpegs without spending big buck, also are there ways to raise the seat,
Thanks in advance guys

Im 6'2 with the same.... 2012 796.... Frankly i wouldnt have it any other way after riding it for over 10K miles.... lol.  Its tight but SUPER flickable!  Although I did put S4R rearsets on it but they feel really close to stock.

Having a good auto upholsterer raise your seat height can increase comfort for your bum as well as opening up the knee angle. Combining slightly lowered footpegs with a raised seat will make a big improvement to your comfort and let you ride further without being distracted by pressure points, bunched riding gear and bad circulation. It's significant how much discomfort distracts your attention from safe riding. There are aftermarket seats like the Sargent brand that are taller and very comfortable. I prefer custom seats made to fit.
Just watch how low you go on the footpegs in regards to ground clearance.

Hey Two Dogs
I could not find a Shift-Tech foot peg for the M796,  do you know if any of the others will fit.
Thanks

I hope those are not the same ones I put on mrs dogs bike a while back  :-[

They were from China , the pin snapped mid ride leaving her stranded on a country road with
the peg bouncing down the road , lucky her foot didn't hit the ground .
The pin was really fine gauge and metal quality was dubious .
I managed to re attach it with a spare bolt I had
I was in the dog house for a while as my bike had the expensive ones on. [roll]

Yeah I just looked at their site too and couldn't see them , not sure if they have stopped selling them
or if anyone else makes them
Sorry.

Two dogs,  which pin was it that broke, I will take a good look before I install them.

I would expect the pins to hold if the peg is bolted well, but I can't tell if that was the case with Mrs Dogs  :-\
The load on the pin(s) will depend on which direction they are mounted...

Another patent, with teeth/notches along the whole circumference....

Thanks, thou I am getting used to the foot position after riding for 200 miles today, I will still try them out.
I also find that the rear brake lever is so close to the body of the bike it is hard to find, not that I use the rear brakes much anyways.

Installed the sling shot foot peg lowering kit and rode a bunch today.
so far so good, knees feel much better.
I am keeping the old pegs in the tool kit on the bike just in case  :)

I run the SSR drop pegs and LOVE them.  Even though it's only a 1 3/16" drop, it feels like a ton!

The Sligshot one is nice too,
I got the one in red to match the frame.
With the touring seat it has made a huge difference in comfort for my knees.
Now I just have to raise the handle bar.
