"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I would say it is mostly the demographic the bike lends itself too.

It isn't really the chick magnet/ wiener measuring type of bike.  You could get something faster for way cheaper with more "aggressive" styling.

I think the bike is about appreciating the finer qualities of a bike.  Look at the S2R swing arm for example, they put some work in the aesthetics of that thing (maybe they should have put some of that effort in the mirrors).  Sure there are pretentious pricks about out on them and you hear about that here on occasion, case in point is the guy one member met on a tri-colore.  Pretentious pricks aren't really the type to regular a motorcycle board though.

You don't have too many squids, because they're expensive to fix.  So unless you are actually good and knowledgeable at riding a bike you aren't going to be to risky with something that's going to put quite the ding in your pocket, especially since most squids are fairly young and have a lack of expendable income.

So you have a mostly higher income group of people that are somewhat aged, (I haven't heard from too many 18-21 year olds) that aren't likely to be too pretentious of pricks seeing as they pass their time on a forum board for a motorcycle rather than fine wines and cigars, that appreciate what sets their bike apart, its made up of nicer bits that can be swapped out for even nicer bits.

The older group probably makes the biggest difference.  When I would get on the Jeep Forum, it was the kids that f'ed it all up.

... I'm totally cool with my friends saying "You remember when William bit it?!  That was awesome!  How do you explode in a fireball while being crushed under a waterfall?!  I don't think I'll beat that..."

Really, it was Randall that made us what we are today [roll]

I agree with BP - this is more like a family [thumbsup]

And as we all know, ALL families are dysfunctional on some level - that fits here as well ;)
Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)

ROFL... If you remember correctly from TOB, I was the one who pointed out that you and the other guy acted like the old farts from the muppet show, that was back when you were "Lawyer".  Next I know you changed your name and avatar.
