Serpentine belt? Probably the tensioner. Should have been checked.

One time a Ford dealer forgot to refill the coolant on my mothers car before they were taking a long trip. Sure enough, even after refilling, the head gasket on the 3.8l V6 blew the head gaskets a couple hundred miles away. Eventually the dealer agreed to replace the motor, but it took me going in there and raising hell for them to agree to it.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

I used to have a Nissan Xterra with the 3.5 supercharged v6. Great power but awful mileage.  You could not remove the lhs plugs without removing the s/charger.  Nissan has used this same engine in some form for years.  I test drove an infiniti g35 about 6 years ago and it was the same 3.5 v6 with a much different fuel system and low pressure turbo.

I miss that Xterra. The 4wd was excellent and even with the shitty mileage and crappy engine layout  it was nice to drive.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

well, missus got in a few minutes ago . . . a smell of burnt rubber ensued as she parked, went to check alternator belt, guess, loose, it has been on 8 days, by the dealer, OEM belt . ..  car is going back in tomorrow . .

This happened with a school bus I drove last January.  Water pump had frozen.  Spoke with the mechanic on early duty (it was 0600) and he said and I quote "It's an over engineered Harvester if it gets past the middle of the temp gauge and it's still squealing and smelling call me back.  Otherwise drive it and it'll quit within the next 10 miles as the motor gets warm."  He was right.  It seems International (used to be International Harvester) had a diesel I6 that was crazy bullet proof left over from their Harvester days.  Made perfect sense for a vehicle that doesn't go faster than 55MPH.

And so it begins. The alternator & Battery are out of the car, i clipped the wires to the alternator. This thing is officially dead.

And when I was removing the cast Bracket for the alternator there were three bolts and one stud that didn't allow me to remove the thing without removing the fan first. This time I cheated and bent the stud but that kind of stuff drives me up the wall, the could have just as easily used a bolt instead of making things difficult.

Edit: I just removed the Horn. Any guesses as to what I'm going to do with it?  [evil]
