Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

DSG is fantastic in the VW Audi products.  So good there is no reason to buy a manual.  The small Ford, at least on this side of the pond, has no idea what it is doing.  I hate CVTs.

When there isn't snow my DD is a 2004 Honda Accord V6/6spd with the full HFP kit.  It's been awesome and is fun to drive.  I've put about 120,000 miles on it over the last 6 years or so and it's never asked me for anything.  I've even seen 35mpg on extended highway trips.  Not bad for a 12 year old car.

I won't lie though.  Im getting tired of shifting that son of a pregnant dog.

I've been looking hard at Audi.  I love the TTRS but it's only available with the manual trans, at least the ones I'd be able to afford when it's time to buy.

I really want an automatic trans with the ability to use paddle shifters (or the stick, whatever) that work a DSG that gets it right.

After driving a Skoda Superb 206TSI 4x4 wagon.... I came to the conclusion it was the nicest boring car I'd ever driven.

So ended up with a Subaru Levorg 2.0 GT-S

Not so nice.

Not so boring.

Levorg.

Fitting car name for an AustrAlien to drive.

;D

"Honey, I'm taking the Levorg over to Xanapippen, would you like me to pick up some flingelsnokkers while I'm there?"
"No we're good on flingelsnokkers, but can you get some slogernubbins?"

Mmmm, slogernubbins.

Sadly, six months of attempting to build a house has convinced me that my next car is whatever cheap but not beat to death pickup truck I can find on Craigslist for a couple of thousand less than I can clear on the sale of my dream car, my 1985 Toyota Land Cruiser.  :'(

Building a house sounds worthwhile.

Duck-Stew

Yeah!  He's got me convinced!

Next car?  Wife & I work at the same place which is ~15 miles from home.  Considering a used Nissan Leaf for a commuter and keep one of the petrol vehicles for longer distance trips.

Brand new '16s are ~$30-$34K but it you shop right, a gently pre-loved '15 can be had for ~$15K.  At THAT price, it makes sense for us.

Runs same engine and auto drive train as WRX, which in Australia means 197kw/350Nm.  Its still...... adequate  [evil]
